Background:

Assessment of patency rate of multi- loc stent placement for arteriovenous dialysis fistula stenosis in our institution

Material(s) and Method(s):

This is a  case series, single- center study of three patients conducted from January 2019 to February 2020. All patients presenting with recurrent AVF failure (thrombosis, stenosis or resistance stenosis ,insufficient angioplasty) who underwent endovascular treatment with multi-loc stent were included.

Result(s):

During 1 years study period , 3 patients  (2 male and 1 female )who have arteriovenous fistula dysfunction  underwent multi-loc stent procedure. The mean age was 69 years and the dialysis access  was two brachiocephalic and one brachiobasilic. A total of 9 stent segments were deployed( cephalic arch  , two different  anastomotic site 2  and 6 in juxta- anastomosis. One patient with multifocal stenosis ( 6 stent segments) presented with fistula thrombosis at 109 days. The remaining two fistulas remain patent at 319 and 199 days follow up

Conclusion(s):

This is an early experience with multi-loc spot stenting.This is preliminary data on the use multi-loc stenting in dialysis access ,further evaluation of this stent in this specific indication still required.
